Spanish Courses for Adults
In alignment with LACI’s mission and through its specialized curriculum, our adult classes are structured to be fun, interactive, and practical. Lessons focus on:
- Vocabulary
- Grammar
- Commonly used expressions
- Cultural components of all Latin American countries
From the onset of the course, instruction is given in Spanish, which provides a total
Spanish immersion environment for students.
Vocabulary
LACI helps students develop a strong base of vocabulary that can be applied in real life situations and will help them develop their level of communication with the Latino world.
Grammar
LACI helps students develop a strong grammatical base that will allow them formulate dialogues and opinions using the correct forms. Students will learn how to write and express ideas utilizing this grammar. Grammar is presented in an easy to learn structure throughout our curriculum.
Culture
Learning about culture is a fundamental part of all lessons. Cultural components are presented through our listening dialogues, songs, movies, Latin-American literature, cooking recipes, and field trips.
Listening Dialogues and Songs
In order to further enhance our students listening skills, our curriculum consists of structured listening dialogues and songs that apply to what our students are learning.
Movies
Every term students watch a movie in Spanish that represents the culture and history of a specific Latin American country. Through these movies students learn more about the history, culture, and the customs of the specified country. Discussions before and after the movie are facilitated by the teacher.
Field Trips
Every term students are taken on a field trip to a Spanish speaking business (restaurants, supermarkets, and merchandise stores) where they can apply the grammar and vocabulary they have learned in class. Teachers will facilitate activities that will be put students in real life situations.
